CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) - Police in Rhode Island say a man is dead after two SUVs collided overnight in Cranston.

Authorities say the crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday. They say one of the vehicles was traveling west in an eastbound lane when the cars collided. The driver of that vehicle died in the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured. A passenger in the back seat was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. A juvenile in a car seat was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence.



Their conditions are unknown.

No names have been released.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash and it has yet to be determined if speed was a factor.
