BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - One city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is offering bicycle rental by the hour.
Local news outlets report that Biloxi started the program Friday. The first automated rental stations are at the visitors’ center and MGM Park downtown, with five bikes each. Riders pay on an app and receive a code to unlock a bike. Rates are $3 per hour for up to eight hours.
Bike lanes are marked on several streets in and around downtown.
Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich says the bike-rental program gives visitors a chance to get out of hotel rooms and explore Biloxi.
