WORLAND, Wyo. (AP) - A landslide has closed part of an oil and gas field in northwestern Wyoming.
It happened on public land Thursday on the Washakie-Hot Springs county line northeast of Thermopolis. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management estimates the landside involved some 10 acres to a depth of 20-30 feet.
The landslide destroyed a road to nine wells. The Northern Wyoming Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2p7O8Bw ) oilfield workers who saw the slide in progress shut in the wells to prevent any spills.
