Toddler hit by vehicle in Eugene, dies from injuries

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a 22-month-old boy died after he was hit by a vehicle that was backing out of an apartment driveway in Eugene.

Police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin says the child was struck shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, and died at the hospital.

She says the driver, a 26-year-old woman, is cooperating with the investigation.
