ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Transit says service on two of its main rail lines is on or close to schedule after earlier delays due to downed wires that caused a fire.

The incident occurred in Elizabeth late Thursday morning. Downed Amtrak wires caused a brush fire.

Trains on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines experienced 30-minute delays and trains were operating express service west of Newark.

NJ Transit says normal service has been restored with some residual delays.
