KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - A search is underway for a man who reportedly fell into a stretch of turbulent water below a dam in northwest Montana.

The Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell reports https://goo.gl/cfvx43 the man fell after climbing into a closed section of cliffs beyond the overlook railing at the Selis Ksanka Qlispe Dam Overlook on Wednesday, despite multiple signs warning of swift currents and steep, dangerous slopes.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says a helicopter was used in the search, and dam operators tried to reduce the flow of the river to help with rescue efforts.



The man’s name has not been released.
