SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Syracuse are seeking the public’s help in finding the driver who left the scene of a hit-and-run accident that killed a 2-year-old girl and injured her baby brother and father.

Police say Jameisha Stanford was playing with chalk on a sidewalk late Saturday afternoon when a car jumped the curb and hit the children and their father. Jameisha was killed. Her brother 1-year-old brother and her father were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say officers found the car later Saturday but so far haven’t found the driver.

Police are asking anyone with information about the driver of the gold-colored Honda Accord to call them at 315-442-5130.

Funeral services for Jameisha are Friday morning at St. Lucy’s Church on Gifford Street.
