NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - Traffic is moving across the section of Interstate 75 in Florida known as Alligator Alley after a wildfire forced officials to shut the highway down.

On Monday afternoon the Florida Highway Patrol closed the road that connects Florida’s east coast to its west coast for four hours.

Troopers remained on alert throughout the night to monitor fire conditions. The road reopened at 8:42 p.m. Monday.
