BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Tappen angler recently landed a carp that set a North Dakota record.
The Game and Fish Department says Derek Barnick took a 31 pound, 9 ounce common carp from Lake Etta-Alkaline with a bow and arrow on April 21.
The 36-inch fish broke the record of 31 pounds set by Austin Loberg of Thompson, who caught his whopper in the Sheyenne River in 2003.
