PHOENIX (AP) - A fire that broke out at a car salvage yard on Saturday night has forced evacuations of residents of a community off Interstate 17 north of Phoenix.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says fire crews are working to contain the fire, which is less than a square mile large.

The sheriff’s office said it didn’t have the number of evacuations.

The Red Cross set up a shelter at a local school.

Crews from at least five fire departments are working the blaze, and investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
