WASHINGTON (AP) - Pools are about to open for the summer in the District of Columbia.
Mayor Muriel Bowser is kicking off the summer outdoor pool season Friday afternoon during a ceremony at Banneker Recreation Center. Outdoor aquatic facilities will officially open on Saturday.
The city has 18 outdoor pools, 11 indoor pools, 23 spray parks and two children’s pools. For the Memorial Day weekend, from Saturday through Monday, pools will be open noon to 6 p.m.
