MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A former Minot neurosurgeon facing federal sex abuse charges has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Marc Eichler was accused of exchanging sexually explicit texts and photos in 2015 with two girls, ages 12 and 13. He also was accused of providing one of the girls with gifts and paying for hotel rooms for the girl and her friends as incentive for her not to talk about the alleged abuse.
Eichler pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to one count of possessing child pornography, and prosecutors dropped several other charges.
North Dakota’s medical board earlier suspended Eichler’s license to practice indefinitely, citing unprofessional conduct.
