LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A second suspect in the shooting death of a 2-year-old Arkansas girl has surrendered.
Authorities say 21-year-old Deshaun Rushing was arrested Wednesday in the November death of the toddler, who was shot while riding in the backseat of her mother’s vehicle in Little Rock.
Little Rock police spokesman Officer Steve Moore says Rushing was accompanied by his attorney when he surrendered at a police station in Little Rock.
Rushing faces charges including murder and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Police arrested 17-year-old Larry Jackson on Tuesday. He has pleaded not guilty to the same charges. He is being held in jail without bond.
Police say a recent tip allowed investigators to obtain arrest warrants for Jackson and Rushing. Moore says no other arrest warrants have been issued in the child’s death.
