Scotland may not have another stab at an independence referendum for a while, but as of Wednesday Scots can e-wave the saltire proudly on Twitter.

Non-Twitter users might have to wait a while to use the new unicode emoji, however, with companies like Apple and Google yet to roll out software updates that includes the new entries, the BBC said.

Wales and England also at long last have emoji for their respective national flags, the BBC reported Wednesday, crediting the development to a lobbying campaign by Jeremy Burge of Emojipedia and Owen Williams from BBC Wales.

Previously there was only a standardized emoji for the Union Jack, the flag of the United Kingdom.

Other emoji rolled out on Twitter Wednesday include a smattering of random objects (e.g. a Chinese-takeout box and a curling stone) as well as mythical creatures like vampires and fairies.

And yes, there are even male and female zombie figures, as well as, appropriately enough, a human brain.

You can see a review of the new emoji in the video from Emojipedia embedded below.
