DUNMORE, Pa. (AP) - A man says a Pennsylvania state lawmaker stiffed him on a $5,000 campaign loan.
Rocco Riccardo says he’s tried to get Democratic state Rep. Kevin Haggerty to repay the 2014 loan in full. He says Haggerty twice offered checks for $500, but Riccardo rejected them because their agreement said the loan would be repaid in full.
The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (https://bit.ly/2qhmopy ) reports the Dunmore man has filed suit.
Haggerty’s wife obtained a protection-from-abuse order against Haggerty last week after she claims the lawmaker threw two water bottles at her, striking her in the face.
Haggerty has not commented on the protective order or the suit.
