JAMUL, Calif. (AP) - Crews have surrounded a brush fire that forced hundreds of people to evacuate over the weekend southeast of San Diego.

Investigators are examining videos posted to social media for clues about what sparked the blaze Saturday in a rural area near Jamul (HAH-mul).

The state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said early Tuesday that the fire was 100 percent contained after scorching more than 3 square miles (8.3 square kilometers) of dry brush.

Occupants of rural homes and the Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground were ordered to leave as flames spread rapidly amid dry, hot conditions. Evacuations were lifted Monday.

No injuries were reported.
