PHOENIX (AP) - A Chandler man accused of manslaughter in a hit-and-run accident earlier this month has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 27-year-old Kinton Robert Bruce had his arraignment Tuesday.

His next scheduled court date is an initial pretrial conference on July 10.

Bruce was arrested May 6 and jailed on suspicion of manslaughter, hit-and-run and two counts of endangerment.

Chandler police say Bruce’s car allegedly ran a red light and triggered a three-vehicle accident that injured a woman who later died at a hospital.

They say Bruce’s vehicle rolled several times and he fled the scene before being arrested about a mile from the scene.

Police say Bruce was given a field sobriety test by responding officers who saw signs of alcohol impairment.
