MIAMI (AP) - Officials say a construction worker at a downtown Miami high-rise building was hospitalized after falling nearly four stories down an elevator shaft.
The Miami Herald (https://goo.gl/lqKGrD ) reports that the fall happened Tuesday morning at the Met Miami Project.
Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll says the man was in pain but talking to co-workers and paramedics. Rescuers transported the man to a nearby trauma center. His condition wasn’t known later Tuesday.
Suffolk Construction, the general contractor at Met Miami, released a statement saying they were investigating the cause of the fall.
