FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a pickup truck on U.S. Interstate 80 about 15 miles east of Fernley.

Troopers say a white Dodge Dakota pickup was headed east in the left lane of I-80 in rural Churchill County when it hit the pedestrian at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.



The patrol says the driver of truck remained on the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
