BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Ben and Jerry’s, the Vermont ice cream company known for its social activism, faced criticism during a May Day March for Dignity. It stems from the company’s refusal to sign a ’Milk with Dignity’ contract from Migrant Justice, a group that represents dairy farm workers.
A spokesperson for Ben and Jerry’s says that they are working to find a mutually agreeable resolution. A representative for Migrant Justice was forceful, saying the company will have to join eventually.
Protestors, after demonstrating in front of a local Ben and Jerry’s store, marched to the Vermont Federal Building to denounce statements made about immigrant workers by President Donald Trump.
