SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a man suspected of starting two small vegetation fires near a Southern California mountain community.

Crews made quick work of the twin blazes that burned Monday in the San Bernardino Mountains not far from Crestline. The larger of the fires charred about 3 acres of dry brush.

While firefighters battled the flames, police officers and sheriff’s deputies searched the area for the arson suspect. The man was arrested late Monday. He was not identified.
