WINTHROP, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a worker has been killed in an accident at a grain facility in eastern Iowa.

Winthrop Fire Chief Chris Hare says medics were sent to the Viafield co-op facility around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. The man already had been pulled from a grain cart, so efforts were made to revive him. He later at a hospital. His name and other information about the accident haven’t been released.

A Viafield spokesman says an investigation is underway.
