Sen. Dick Durbin called out President Trump on Thursday after Mr. Trump fired off a set of tweets about a special counsel named in the Russia investigation.
“The president is his own worst enemy,” Mr. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, said on MSNBC. “He is basically going to hang himself with 140 characters at a time, in a tweet. And I hope it comes to an end, but for now, this is what we have to deal with.”
Mr. Durbin was reacting to the president’s tweets from early Thursday morning when he called the continued investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russia and appointment of a special counsel a “witch hunt.”
