SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A large fight at a Spokane youth center has resulted in five arrests.

Police were called to Excelsior Youth Center about 8 p.m. Monday on a report of a fight.

When police arrived they reported that about 15 people were fighting among the 50 in the gym.

The Spokesman-Review says juveniles in the crowd were hostile to police and interfered with officers attempting to break up the fights.

Seven staff members and five police officers reported being assaulted by the juveniles.

Five juveniles were arrested and were accused of multiple crimes, including third-degree assault of an officer and rioting.
