OPA-LOCKA, Fla. (AP) - Police say an 18-year-old student is recovering after another student stabbed him in the stomach during an argument in the parking lot of a South Florida high school.

Local news outlets are reporting the incident happened Tuesday morning outside North Park High School in Opa-locka, which is northwest of Miami.

Police Chief James Dobson told reporters an 18-year-old student stabbed his classmate with a 4-inch knife just before 8:30 a.m. School security officers took the student into custody and held him for police.



The names of the students haven’t been released.

No further details were immediately available.
