PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a man has been wounded in an ambush shooting with an 8-year-old girl nearby.
Police didn’t immediately release the name of the victim who was wounded in the city’s Overbrook section about 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Police say the man had just pulled up to his girlfriend’s house and was getting out of the car with her when three shots were fired toward the vehicle. One hit the man and two hit the vehicle, though the man’s girlfriend and little girl in the back seat were not injured.
Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says the victim was taken to Lankenau Hospital in stable condition.
A suspect hasn’t been named or arrested.
