TRIPP, S.D. (AP) - Three people suffered serious injuries when a car collided with their horse-drawn buggy in Hutchinson County.
The state Department of Public Safety says the buggy was struck by the car Sunday evening at a highway intersection about half a mile north of Tripp.
The three people were ejected from the buggy. Authorities say two of them suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, but a 20-year-old Tripp woman was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/2qrKDmZ ) that no charges are pending against the driver of the car.
A department spokesman says seat belt laws do not apply to horse-drawn buggies.
