US soldier killed in training incident in Hawaii

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - A U.S. solider has died during a training incident in Hawaii.

The soldier died Sunday, Hawaii News Now reported (https://bit.ly/2qnL0i6 ).

A second soldier was injured during the training.

The accident occurred Sunday at an intersection on the Daniel K Inouye Highway in North Kona, Army officials said. Both the highway and Mamalahoa Highway were closed as officials investigated.

The soldier had been assigned to the 25th Infantry Division.
