NAZARETH, Pa. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two people killed in a head-on crash on an eastern Pennsylvania highway last week.
The Northampton County coroner’s office said 19-year-old Jonathan Morales Lopez and 70-year-old Brenda Zellner were killed in the Upper Nazareth Township crash.
Police said Lopez was driving a car while Zellner was a passenger in a Jeep when the two vehicles collided at about 9 p.m. Wednesday on a wooded stretch of Route 248 about 70 miles (112.7 kilometers) north of Philadelphia.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A 71-year-old man remains in critical condition at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill.
The crash remains under investigation by Upper Nazareth Township police. Chief William Cope said a reconstruction team is trying to determine what led to the accident.
