CANTON, Ga. (AP) - One teenager is in custody and another is recovering after a stabbing at Woodstock High School.
Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds says a fight between two 16-year-old students broke out in the boys’ bathroom Friday and spilled out into the hallway. WXIA-TV reports (https://on.11alive.com/2r2C9oN ) a teenager stabbed another student in the neck and chest and the suspect fled.
Cell phone video from inside the school shows armed officers going from classroom searching for the suspect, who was found near his home. The sheriff’s office has not said what charges the teenager will face.
Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Backer says the injured student was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
After nearly two hours in lockdown, students were dismissed on time at 3:15 p.m.
