NAZARETH, Pa. (AP) - Two people have been killed and one hurt in a head-on crash on an eastern Pennsylvania highway.

Upper Nazareth Township police say the crash happened about 9 p.m. Wednesday on Route 248. That’s about 70 miles (112.7 kilometers) north of Philadelphia.

Police say it appears the vehicles collided head-on along a stretch of the highway that runs through some woods.

Police didn’t immediately release the names of those involved, and the Northampton County coroner didn’t immediately return a call early Thursday.

The injured person was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Fountain Hill, but their condition wasn’t immediately available.
