MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - A jury has convicted a woman of manslaughter and assault charges in a car crash near Medford that killed her daughter and injured her son.

The Mail Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/0depuj ) 28-year-old Necia Hanson was found guilty Wednesday of manslaughter and assault in the crash that killed 6-year-old Bella Keesee and injured Bernie Keesee in April 2016.

The jury acquitted Hanson on a more serious count of first-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of intoxicants.



Hanson was driving on Blackwell Road near Dean Creek Road when she reportedly veered her car into a semitrailer headed in the opposite direction.

Her daughter was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

A sentencing hearing is set for May 17.
