HARWINTON, Conn. (AP) - Authorities in Connecticut are alerting residents after a coyote attacked a pet dog.

The Republican-American reports (https://bit.ly/2pjJ8Kf ) that the attack happened at a home near state Route 72 Monday night. Harwinton Animal Control Officer Tom Mitchell says local officials are working with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The dog was treated for injuries.



Harwinton Animal Control has asked that residents with questions about coyotes visit the state DEEP site or call the agency.
