MACON, Ga. (AP) - The superintendent of the Bibb County School District has had his contract extended for four more years.
The Macon Telegraph reports (https://bit.ly/2qYhU8p) that the county board of education made the decision to extend Curtis Jones’ contract to 2021 at a called meeting Tuesday night. Jones became superintendent in April 2015; his current contract ends in April 2018.
The board also gave Jones a $10,000 raise, effective June 1, bringing his annual salary to $220,000.
Board president Daryl Morton says the school system is moving in the right direction.
