CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida neighborhood plagued with peacocks is divided over how to deal with the birds.

The Miami Herald reports (https://hrld.us/2ptYPNA ) that residents of one part of Coral Gables have gotten into verbal arguments and fistfights over the peafowl, which are loud, destructive and aggressive - not to mention they poop everywhere.

Trouble is, nobody from Miami-Dade County, the city or the state seems to know what to do about them because Miami is considered a bird sanctuary and county law prohibits tampering with eggs or trapping and removing peafowl unless they are transferred to a protected place.

Some people love the peafowl and feed them - which also stretches some neighbors’ nerves to the breaking point.
