WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer used a stun gun to stop a man who ignored commands and discovered the man prohibited from owning a gun had a weapon.
Wilmington police say officers were about to approach the man Friday when he fled, clutching his waistband area. Police say after the man ignored officers’ commands to stop, an officer used his stun gun. Police say they found a loaded handgun.
Police say the man, 23-year-old Kevron Williams, was treated at Wilmington Hospital and released, then taken to police headquarters.
Williams is charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
