DETROIT, Ore. (AP) - The Detroit Reservoir has reached its highest water level since 2009.

The Statesman Journal reported (https://stjr.nl/2qm0829 ) Sunday that a recent system of heavy rain plus an extremely wet season put the reservoir’s surface at 1,565 feet (477 meters) last week.

A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers official says she expects most of the boat ramps to be usable until the end of summer. She says it should be a great recreation season.

The reservoir’s water level has been below its normal height for the past two years.

In 2015, a historic drought brought the reservoir to its lowest summertime level in history at 1,511 feet (461 meters).
