ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Firefighters have rescued four kayakers near the South Carolina-North Carolina state line.

The Rock Hill Fire Department told local media that the kayakers were pulled from the Catawba River on Sunday after they were unable to get out of the water and had to hold onto trees until help arrived.

Deputy Fire Chief Mark Simmons said crews were called about 3:30 p.m. near River Park.

Simmons said no one was hurt.
