LYNDHURST, N.J. (AP) - Four New Jersey police officers rescued a man who got stuck in the mud after officers said he jumped off the roof of a hotel.
Lyndhurst police responded to a report that a man had jumped off the roof of the Winslow Motor Hotel on Tuesday night. Officers tracked him to the bank of the Passaic River, where they say he tried to elude them and got stuck in the mud.
The officers entered the river and pulled him out.
The 39-year-old, whose name has not been released, was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
