Trekkies rejoice: A new series is coming to a viewscreen near you.

“Star Trek: Discovery” is nearing her maiden voyage with producers for the CBS sci-fi drama tapping Jason Isaacs to play the commanding officer of the title starship, Variety reported Tuesday.

Mr. Isaacs, who most recently starred on the Netflix original series “OA” and as Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” movies, will play the USS Discovery’s Captain Lorca.

The series, to be available exclusively on the CBS All Access streaming service, should get off the ground in the summer or fall, Variety said. “Discovery” had originally been pegged for a January 2017 launch but casting problems and changes in the production crew set kept the series moored in spacedock, the entertainment magazine explained.

For his part, CBS’s CEO Les Moonves put a positive spin on the delay recently. “It’s important to get it right, and ’Star Trek’ is the family jewels,” he said, Variety reported.
