MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Myrtle Beach area officials are still waiting for details on a proposed $100 million project by Chinese investors.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported (https://bit.ly/2lVE9tu) that Mayor John Rhodes and Horry County Council Chairman Mark Lazarus said last March that the project would consist of a cultural village that would include an amusement park with attractions like a building in the image of a giant silk lantern.

Rhodes said he has heard nothing from the investors.

Ming Wu represents Hongyang Lantern Inc. and says there is nothing to announce yet but investors are still working on the plans. Records the newspaper obtained under the Freedom of Information Act showed the investors had been interested in the old Hard Rock amusement park site.

Wu would not identify a possible location.
