RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in Reno say the 17-year-old boy accused of being involved in a shooting last week that left an officer injured and another suspect dead is still at large.
Reno Police Lt. Zachary Thew tells the Reno Gazette-Journal (https://on.rgj.com/2n7Gxxh ) that authorities are searching for the teenager. Thew says the officer who was shot remains in stable condition at an area hospital.
Authorities have said the incident happened when Reno police tried to conduct a traffic stop Thursday near the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
A male suspect who was shot officers while fleeing from a sport utility vehicle was pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect.
The incident was the second fatal shooting within a week involving Reno police. A 24-year-old Las Vegas man was shot and killed Feb. 23 at the downtown Eldorado hotel-casino.
