CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A man killed in a traffic accident on his 78th birthday was one of two people who died on Charlotte streets within a six-hour span.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, a car driven by Bobby Bolin ran off a street shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, went airborne and came to rest on an embankment. Bolin died at a local hospital, while a passenger in the car was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police also said 45-year-old Clorie Amelia Grant died at a hospital after the car she was driving ran off Wilkinson Boulevard and hit a tree around 1 a.m. Saturday. The initial investigation shows neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
