LORTON, Neb. (AP) - Officials say work is expected to begin this week on a bridge replacement project in southeast Nebraska.

The Nebraska Roads Department says the work to replace a Nebraska Highway 128 river bridge east of Lorton will include new approaches, grading and culverts. Traffic will be diverted north on Nebraska Highway 67 for routing east and west.

A river bridge just north of Lorton on Nebraska Highway 67 will be replaced one half at a time. Traffic will be controlled by a signal.

The work on both bridges is expected to be finished in fall.
