FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - A former parochial school teacher has admitted having sexual contact with a child who was not a student.

Forty-eight-year-old Joseph Prioli, of Howell, pleaded guilty to two counts of child endangerment. Under terms of a plea agreement, prosecutors will seek a prison term of five years without parole.

The Asbury Park Press reports (https://on.app.com/2nmkFhs ) Prioli worked as a technology teacher and director at Christian Brothers Academy for over a decade. School officials say he resigned citing other career interests long before his arrest in December.

Authorities say Prioli did not participate in criminal activity at the school during his tenure.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 9.
