TEWKSBURY, Mass. (AP) - Police in Massachusetts say a massive fire destroyed a home hours after the tenants were served with an eviction notice.
Firefighters in Tewksbury discovered a house fully engulfed in flames late Wednesday. People who called 911 reported hearing explosions.
Brenda Camello told WHDH-TV (https://bit.ly/2oezLtI ) her brother owns the house on Woodland Drive and he had problems with the tenants and “had been trying to get them out for quite a while.”
She said a judge recently ordered the tenants to leave the house after a lengthy court battle.
Police said officers were called to the home earlier on Wednesday to help with the eviction of two residents.
The fire remains under investigation. The house was determined to be a total loss.
