TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Tempe Town lake has reopened to boating and other water activities after being closed because releases of runoff into the Salt River carried large quantities of floating debris into the lake.
The city says they could reopen the lake late Thursday because debris stopped entering the lake and crews were able to remove remaining material.
Officials say there may be small pockets of vegetation remaining in the water in the lake but that boating is again safe and that a regatta scheduled Saturday will take place.
