NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities on Long Island say a chain reaction crash has injured nine people.

Police say the crash happened at an intersection along state Route 110 in North Amityville around 12:05 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say a 76-year-old man suffered a medical emergency before driving through a red light. Police say 10 vehicles were hit in the chain reaction crash.

Officials say nine people were taken to three area hospitals with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.



Police have not identified the 76-year-old driver.
