OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a wrong-way driver has been killed after crashing into an 18-wheeler in Jackson County.

The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/2mQ0zAG) reports that Mississippi Highway Patrol officials say 52-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Reaves died in the wreck early Wednesday morning.

Highway patrol spokesman Chase Elkins says Reaves was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 10 when she hit the truck head-on.



Jackson County Deputy Coroner Jason Moody says Reaves was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck and a passenger had minor injuries.

Elkins says the truck caught on fire shortly after the crash.

Clean-up crews worked to remove debris from the roadway.

The crash remains under investigation.
