ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - A vote this week by Cornell University graduate student workers over whether to unionize is too close to call.
The Ivy League school in Ithaca says it expects the final results for the vote held Monday and Tuesday to be determined within a month.
Cornell officials say Wednesday there were 919 votes by graduate assistants against union representation compared to 856 votes for unionization. But 81 ballots remain unresolved, a number greater than the 63-vote margin.
An arbitrator is reviewing the votes.
About 80 percent of eligible graduate assistants cast a ballot.
